Acupuncture Brand Photography Minneapolis: Let Patients Meet You Before the First Visit
Acupuncture brand photography in Minneapolis gives patients a reason to trust you before they book. For Nikki Vanecek of EastWest Acupuncture, that trust had a lot of ground to cover. She sees 50 to 70 patients a week at her Excelsior clinic and has worked with the Minnesota Twins for six years. Now she is stepping into speaking, workshops, and retreats, and she wanted photos that showed all of it. So we built a half-day session around her on October 13.
Quick answer: Acupuncture brand photography is a session built to show patients who you are before they book. A good one includes a polished portrait, your treatment space, you at work, and short video for your website and social channels. A half-day session that mixes your clinic neighborhood with a few city locations covers all of it.

Acupuncture Brand Photography in Minneapolis: What Patients Look For First
Patients read a face before they read a bio. They want to know whether you look calm, capable, and easy to talk to, and a photo answers that in a glance. For an acupuncturist the stakes run higher, since the next step is lying down and trusting you with their body.
Nikki said it plainly in her pre-shoot form. She wanted people to look at her photos and feel they had found the right person. She also wanted them to see how much she loves what she does. That is a clear brief, and it shaped every setup we chose. We see the same pattern across clinics, which we wrote about in why patients choose faces before facilities.

Brand Photography for Acupuncturists: The Shots That Fill a Website
Photos for an acupuncture website work hardest when they come from one session. The lighting, color, and styling match from page to page. Three kinds of images cover most of what a practice needs.
- Portraits. A polished frame for your About page and bio, plus a few relaxed, in-motion frames for social and speaker kits.
- Your space and your work. The treatment room, the hands-on moments, and the small details that make your clinic feel like yours.
- Short video. A website highlight clip and vertical reels for Instagram, so patients hear your voice before they meet you.
Nikki’s package included a website highlight video and three reels alongside the photos. Larger practices can add team portraits, like the integrative medicine clinic session we shot in Wayzata.

When You Are Great With Patients and Awkward on Camera
Nikki told us up front that she gets awkward when someone points a camera at her. She wanted the day to feel like a reflection of who she is rather than a photo shoot. Plenty of practitioners say the same thing. They spend all day making other people comfortable and then freeze when it is their turn.
Here is how we handled it. We shot her portraits first and saved the interview for late morning, once she had warmed up. We kept the camera behind the conversation so she could talk to us like a friend over coffee. We also read her own form answers back to her as prompts. That brought out the two questions at the center of her work: “How do I feel? What do I need?”
People ignore themselves, in Nikki’s words, and her work is helping them listen. A photo that looks relaxed and present says that better than a perfect pose can.

Where We Shot: City Streets, Bridges, and a Home in Excelsior
Nikki asked for outdoor and urban settings with a classy, sophisticated feel. We planned the early part of the day around sidewalks, bridges, and city backdrops. Around noon we moved to a private home in Excelsior for more photos and video, and the session wrapped at 2 p.m. Her clinic also sits in Excelsior on Lake Minnetonka. The final frames tie back to acupuncture in Excelsior, the place her patients already know.
If you run an acupuncture or wellness practice in the Twin Cities or around Lake Minnetonka, you can mix city locations with your own clinic the same way.

Acupuncture Brand Photography FAQs
What is acupuncture brand photography?
Acupuncture brand photography is a photo and video session that shows patients who you are and how you work. It replaces stock images and old headshots with pictures from your own practice, ready for your website, social media, speaker pages, and press.
What photos should an acupuncturist have on their website?
Start with a portrait for your About page. Add a few images of your treatment space, hands-on moments with a patient or model, and a short video introduction. Include team photos if patients will meet other practitioners or front desk staff.
How long does an acupuncture brand photography session take?
Plan on a half day. Nikki’s session ran from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. and covered portraits, a second location, and video. A shorter session works if you only need a portrait and a few clinic images.
What if I am nervous on camera?
Tell us before the shoot. We photograph you before any interview and talk to you instead of the lens. You also get a second take on anything you want to say again. Nikki was nervous going in, and we used that approach for her day.
