Laila’s senior photos at St. Anthony Main started under the trees on cobblestone streets and ended forty minutes later in a field of tall grass. That’s not a typo. We met her in front of Aster Cafe on St. Anthony Main, then drove out to Pixel Dust Acres in Greenfield to finish the gallery somewhere completely different. If you’re picturing your own senior photos at St. Anthony Main and wondering whether one location is enough, Laila’s session is the answer: sometimes the best gallery comes from two.
Senior Photos at St. Anthony Main: Where We Started
St. Anthony Main is one of our favorite spots to start a session for a reason. It’s the prettiest street in Minneapolis, full stop. Cobblestones, tree cover, the Mississippi River right there, and the downtown skyline in the background. We met Laila in front of Aster Cafe, where the string lights and old brick give every frame a little bit of romance without trying too hard.
This part of the shoot leaned into texture. Brick walls, the riverwalk railing, the arched windows along Main Street. It’s a location that photographs beautifully in almost any light, which makes it a low-stress way to open a session. Laila warmed up fast here. By the time we’d worked our way down toward the river, she’d stopped thinking about the camera and started just being herself, which is exactly what we’re chasing in every senior session.
If your senior is more comfortable in a city setting before jumping into something more relaxed and outdoorsy, senior photos at St. Anthony Main are a smart way to open the day.

Pixel Dust Acres: Where the Session Turned Wild
From St. Anthony Main, we drove out to Pixel Dust Acres, a five acre property in Greenfield built specifically for photography. It’s a different world out there. Fields of tall grass, manicured gardens, a chicken coop, and a vintage camper tucked on the west side of the property for anyone who wants that boho, sun-drenched look.
Laila’s second half of the session happened almost entirely in the fields. Late summer light through tall grass does something you cannot fake indoors or downtown. We moved her through the gardens for a few frames too, letting the mix of textures do the work.
The distance between the two locations is real, but it’s worth it if your senior wants a gallery with genuine range. City and field. Structured and wild. It’s the kind of contrast that makes a gallery feel like a full story instead of one mood repeated forty times.

Laila’s Senior Photos: Two Very Different Girls
What made this session work wasn’t just the locations. It was watching Laila show up differently in each one. At St. Anthony Main, she was polished and a little more composed, matching the architecture around her. Out at Pixel Dust Acres, she loosened up completely. Barefoot in the grass, laughing between shots, not worried about a single hair out of place.
That’s the thing moms tell us they want most: photos that actually look like their daughter, not a version of her performing for a camera. Two locations gave Laila two different chances to relax into herself, and the gallery reflects both. Some of our favorite frames from the whole session came from the last twenty minutes at Pixel Dust Acres, once she’d fully forgotten we were there.
If your senior tends to freeze up in front of a camera, moving locations partway through can genuinely help. New scenery resets the energy.

Planning Senior Photos at St. Anthony Main and Beyond
St. Anthony Main and Pixel Dust Acres sit on opposite ends of the metro, which means this kind of session takes a bit more planning than a single-location shoot. We build in drive time, plan outfit changes around the transition, and time the second half of the session for the light Pixel Dust Acres does best in, which is late afternoon into golden hour.
It’s a bigger day, but it’s worth it for the range you get in the final gallery. If you’ve been dreaming about senior photos at St. Anthony Main but also want that dreamy, field-and-flowers look, you don’t have to pick one. We can build a session around both.
