Hidden Lake Park Wedding in St. Augusta, Minnesota

A Hidden Lake Park wedding gives you an outdoor ceremony and dinner in St. Augusta, right next to St. Cloud, with plenty of room to build the day your way. Stephanie and Seth did exactly that. They got ready at Stephanie’s family home in St. Cloud, married at the park, ate dinner there, then headed back to the family property for the dance. As a Minneapolis wedding photographer team, we followed the day across all three stops. Here is how it worked, what we would tell couples planning a park wedding in Stearns County, and who helped pull it together.

How a Hidden Lake Park Wedding Day Can Flow

Stephanie and Seth’s day had three stops and one anchor. They got ready together at her family’s home in St. Cloud, then married at Hidden Lake Park, where dinner followed the ceremony. After dinner, the party moved back to the family property for dancing. Keeping the ceremony and dinner in one park meant guests only moved once.

Getting ready at home kept the start of the day simple. Both partners prepped at the same address, so we covered the morning from one place. Stephanie wore a gown and veil from Vow’d with Betsey Johnson shoes, and her bridesmaids wore Birdy Grey dresses.

The rings came from Nino’s Studio. Dinner came from Marna’s Eatery, and the wedding cake came from Flour & Flower. Music on Demand Entertainment kept the dance going back at the family property.

Their Story: A Sauna, a Summit, and a Dance at Home

Stephanie and Seth met at Embrace North sauna. Their proposal happened on the summit of Quandary Peak, a 14,000-foot mountain in Colorado. After a start like that, a wedding built around family, a park, and a dance on the family property makes sense.

When we asked Stephanie what she was most excited about, she answered with one word: everything. That energy showed up all day.

Planning a Wedding at Hidden Lake Park

Hidden Lake Park is a city park at 23215 43rd Ave in St. Augusta, Minnesota. Before you pick a date, ask the City of St. Augusta how reservations and event rules work. Then build your photo timeline around where each part of the day happens.

Here is what we would plan for:

  • Confirm the rules first. The City of St. Augusta sets reservation and event details for the park.
  • Pick a weather backup. Decide where guests go if the forecast turns before your invitations go out.
  • Add drive time. If you get ready in St. Cloud and marry in St. Augusta, put the drive in your schedule.
  • Protect your light. When ceremony, dinner, and portraits share one park, schedule couple portraits for the best light, not for whatever gap is left.

Splitting the day between a park and a family property also changes the evening. Dinner ends, guests move, and the light changes. Plan lighting for the dance, and tell your photographer where the dance floor will sit so we can bring what we need. A reception at home also means fewer built-in amenities, so decide early who handles setup and cleanup.

Our wedding day timeline guide shows how to work through each of those choices.

Hiring a Minneapolis Wedding Photographer for a St. Augusta Wedding

A Minneapolis wedding photographer can cover a St. Augusta wedding. We photographed Stephanie and Seth across St. Cloud and St. Augusta. We have also shot outside the metro before, like the Ivory North wedding in Mora. Tell us your locations early, and we will build the travel into your timeline.

Send us the address for every stop, even the ones that feel obvious. That lets us map drive times and tell you honestly how much time each part of the day needs. A split-location wedding runs smoother when the plan exists before the morning of.
