Some senior sessions start with a Pinterest board. Maggie’s boho senior photos Minneapolis session, though, started with gingham, wide-leg denim, and a pair of worn-in cowboy boots. She’d already broken them in before we ever picked up a camera.

We shot along a quiet creek and wooded trail. Water, tall grass, and one perfect fallen log did most of the set design. So we skipped props and backdrops entirely. Just golden hour and an outfit that already had the mood built in.

Wide-leg denim is trending up again this year. Pieces with lace or crochet detail are having a real moment too. The second half of Maggie’s session swapped in a red flutter-sleeve top with a flowing white maxi skirt, tucked into the woods instead of by the water. Same aesthetic, different note. But that’s the part people miss when they picture “boho” as one look. It’s a mood, not an outfit.

Water and woods do something a plain field can’t. The pond gave us reflection and stillness for the quieter portraits. Meanwhile, the wooded trail gave us texture and a little drama.

One shot says it best. A single narrow beam of sunset light cut across Maggie’s face against a dark forest background. That’s the kind of frame you can’t fake in a studio.
