The Shakespeare Shot

There’s one image from this session that stops people: August, half-hidden behind an open copy of Twelfth Night, red glasses just visible over the top of the page.

It wasn’t staged as a cute reading pose. It’s the reason she writes. Shakespeare is where her love of theater started, long before Children’s Theatre, long before her own plays existed anywhere but a notebook. Photographing her mid-read wasn’t decoration. It was the most honest image of the whole day.
