The classics still earn their spot. The classic Wayzata senior photo spots. But building a session around four locations, and four outfits, instead of one is what separates a memorable gallery from a forgettable one.

Purgatory Park Senior Photos: The Location Nobody’s Using Yet

Purgatory Park sits a few minutes outside downtown Wayzata, with open prairie trails, a wooden boardwalk through the marsh, and enough tree cover to block out any sign of the suburb around it.

For Sophia’s session, it gave us a completely different look from the rest of the day. She wore a soft blue floral maxi dress here, smocked bodice, thin straps, a tiered skirt that moved with the tall grass. The dress and the location did all the work. Natural light, wide open space, no other senior sessions competing for the same background.

CoV Wayzata, Wayzata Field, and the Docks

We opened the session outside CoV Wayzata, the lakeside restaurant known for its coastal patio and downtown charm. Sophia wore a pink mini dress here, easy and a little playful, perfect for candid, laughing-over-the-shoulder shots against the storefront.

From there we moved to Wayzata Field, where she changed into a pink halter top and a white tiered maxi skirt for a few shots built around open sky and warm late light.

We closed on the Wayzata Docks in a red halter top and white wide-leg jeans, walking straight toward the camera as the light started to soften over the marina.
