Senior year is a once-in-a-lifetime milestone—and capturing it should feel just as meaningful. If you’re looking for Edina’s best photographer to guide your senior through a fun, relaxed, and empowering photo session, you’ve come to the right place. At Mycah Bain Photography, our mission is to create images that not only look beautiful but feel like you.
I was honored to be featured in Edina Magazine for my approach to senior photos. As a 2008 Edina High School graduate, I feel deeply connected to this community and truly honored to be part of such a meaningful time in your life.

When to Schedule Your Senior Photos
Most seniors we work with book their session in spring or early summer, right as junior year wraps up. Morning sessions are a favorite because the light is soft, the air is cooler, and the parks are quiet. (Yes, golden hour happens in the morning, too!)

What to Expect from Your Session
Whether you’re booking a 20-minute mini session or a four-hour shoot with outfit changes and multiple locations, we’ll guide you every step of the way. We send mood boards, outfit inspo, and posing tips in advance so you feel fully prepped and confident going in.
During your shoot, we’ll keep the vibe light, fun, and relaxed—playing your favorite playlist, giving gentle direction, and helping you feel totally at ease in front of the camera.

What to Wear (And What to Skip)
The best outfits are the ones that make you feel most like yourself. Here are a few ideas I shared in Edina Magazine:
- A crisp white top with jeans
- A long, flowy dress for soft, outdoor vibes
- Layers like polos, jackets, waffle-textured shirts
- A suit, sporty outfit, or college tee
We recommend avoiding neon colors, heavy logos, or anything that might distract from you. Bringing a few outfit options lets you and your family pick favorites from your final gallery.

Choosing a Location That Feels Personal
We offer a curated guide of 10–15 local favorites, but we love when seniors choose spots with personal meaning. Some top locations include:
- Stone Arch Bridge – Iconic architecture and skyline views
- Boom Island Park – Where city meets nature
- Arneson Acres Park – Lush gardens and peaceful corners in Edina
- Downtown Wayzata – Charming, lakeside energy
- Home settings – Your backyard, family club, or even grandma’s porch
Each location adds a layer of depth to your session and tells a piece of your story.

Including the People Who Matter
We encourage seniors to bring someone they love—whether that’s a parent, sibling, or best friend. It helps the shoot feel more relaxed, and we always love capturing a quick photo of you together. We especially love honoring the parent-senior connection—it’s such a big moment for both of you.

Adding a Personal Touch
Props are a great way to bring your personality into the shoot. We’ve had seniors bring violins, letter jackets, books, baseball gloves, flowers—you name it. If it’s part of your story, we’re here for it.

What Happens After the Shoot?
Within 2–4 weeks, you’ll receive a custom online gallery with full rights to download and print your images. We’ll even help you prep a large print for your school’s senior party or create graphics for your graduation invites.
And when the end of senior year rolls around, consider a graduation photoshoot with friends in cap and gown, college gear, or matching white dresses—just another way to celebrate how far you’ve come.
