She Graduated. These Photos Did Not Miss.
Four years. Done.
If you are looking for a college graduation photographer in Minneapolis who gets it, this session is exactly what that looks like.
Gabriella Walters just wrapped her University of Minnesota degree, and we took that energy straight to some of the most iconic spots in the Twin Cities. Cap, gown, champagne, golden hour. All of it.

The Session: Four Locations, One Iconic Day
We kicked things off on the U of M campus at the historic Northrop building. Those sage-green ornate doors were made for graduation photos. Soft light, clean architecture, and Gabriella in her full cap and gown with her maroon and gold stole over a white lace mini dress and white heels. The combination was everything.
From there we moved under the Washington Avenue Bridge. Dramatic concrete arches. Long open shadows. An editorial feel you cannot fake.
Then golden hour hit the Mississippi River and we were not ready for how good it got.
Gabriella climbed out on the rocks with the Third Avenue Bridge and the entire Minneapolis skyline behind her. She raised a champagne bottle. The light wrapped around her. The camera loved every second of it.
We finished at St. Anthony Main, where the cobblestone streets and teal-trimmed stone buildings gave the session one final gorgeous moment before the sun went all the way down.

4 Tips for Your College Graduation Photos in Minneapolis
1. Bring your school pride. Your stole is the story. Wear it, hold it, drape it. It is the detail that makes graduation photos feel like graduation photos.
2. Time your session around golden hour. The Minneapolis riverfront at golden hour is cinematic. That warm light reflecting off the Mississippi is something no filter can replicate.
3. Plan two looks. Full cap and gown for the classic shots. Then strip it back to your outfit underneath for something more editorial and personal. Gabriella did both and the variety is stunning.
4. Bring one prop that means something. Champagne, flowers, your diploma, a letter. Something real. Gabriella’s champagne pop became the most talked-about shot of the whole session.

Why Minneapolis Is Perfect for College Graduation Photos
Minneapolis has everything a college graduation photographer could want.
Historic campus architecture. The Mississippi River. A downtown skyline that reflects off the water like a mirror at golden hour. Cobblestone streets in St. Anthony Main that look straight out of a European city.
Whether you graduated from the University of Minnesota, Augsburg, Macalester, St. Thomas, or anywhere else in the Twin Cities, this city has a backdrop that matches your moment.
And nobody knows how to find the light here like a photographer who has been shooting these streets for over 14 years.
