You’ve built the credentials. The experience. The reputation inside rooms that matter.
But outside those rooms: on LinkedIn, your website, your speaker bio, your photos still look like every other attorney on the internet.
If you’re a woman in law who’s building something beyond your caseload: a platform, a coaching practice, a speaking career, a community, your visuals need to match the level you’re actually operating at.
That’s exactly what Molly Hough Esq. understood when she booked her brand session with us.
Molly isn’t just a practicing attorney. She’s a coach who transforms women lawyers into confident rainmakers, a speaker, and a legal community builder. Her entire brand runs on trust, visibility, and credibility. Generic firm headshots weren’t going to cut it. If you’re wondering why professional photos matter for your brand, Molly already knew the answer.
Here’s what her session looked like and why more women in law are investing in personal brand photography right now.

Why Personal Brand Photography Hits Different for Women in Law
Here’s the tension a lot of women attorneys feel: you’ve worked incredibly hard to be taken seriously in your field. The last thing you want is photos that feel too soft, too casual, or off-brand for a legal professional.
And the stakes are real. Women now make up 41% of all U.S. lawyers, outnumber men in law school, and for the first time in 2023 became a majority of law firm associates. Yet only 28% of law firm partners are women. The ones breaking through are the ones who own their visibility, not shy away from it.
One session. Content that works for years. And it matters: LinkedIn reports that profiles with professional photos receive significantly more engagement than those without. For attorneys building a platform, that first impression closes or loses the room before you even speak.
But the stiff, gray-backdrop headshot that says “I went to law school” doesn’t tell the full story either. Especially if you’re a coach, speaker, or community builder whose clients need to feel connected to you, not just your credentials.
Personal brand photography lives in that space between the two. It’s professional enough to command respect and warm enough to actually attract the clients, speaking opportunities, and partnerships you’re building toward.
The women in law who invest in brand photography aren’t doing it for vanity. They’re doing it because they’re serious about growing.

What Molly’s Session Was Designed to Do
When Molly came in, we talked through where she was showing up online and what she needed her images to communicate. The answer was clear: she needed photos that said credible thought leader and someone I actually want to learn from, at the same time.
We built her session around three things:
- Confidence without stiffness. Molly is a rainmaker coach. She needs to radiate the energy she teaches. Every image had to feel grounded and powerful, not posed and strained.
- Warmth that invites. Her clients are women lawyers who are often scared to put themselves out there. Molly’s photos needed to say: I get it, and I can help.
- Range. She needed content for LinkedIn, her website, speaking bios, and social media. We built variety into the session so she has the right image for every context.
The result: a full library of images she can pull from for the next two-plus years across her entire online presence.

Inside the Session: Studio Brand Photography in Minneapolis
We shot Molly’s session in a Minneapolis studio: warm tones, natural light, intentional setups. No corporate gray backdrop. No stiff poses.
Studio sessions give you something on-location shoots can’t always guarantee: total control. The light is consistent, the background is clean, and every frame is intentional. For someone building a personal brand, that consistency matters. Your visuals become recognizable across platforms when they share the same feel.
Molly came in with a clear sense of who she is and who she’s talking to. Our job was to translate that onto camera. The images you see here are what happened when we did.
