Inside the Senior Portrait Session at Mother Co. Plants, Minneapolis

the vibe at Mother Co. Plants, Minneapolis was soft, warm, and completely editorial.

we had towering arched doorways draped in linen. warehouse windows flooding the space with natural light. rows of tropical palms and a full cactus garden. it felt more like a set than a studio, and every corner gave us something different to work with.

Talliya wore a blue and white botanical print maxi dress that looked made for this space. she posed in the arched doorway, leaned against the warehouse windows, and disappeared into the tropical plant section in the best way. every single frame was stunning.

Maddy brought sweet pink peplum energy. pink top, light-wash jeans, white Converse, gold bracelets, and a smile that made every corner of the room brighter. effortless and totally her.

Alma went full soft girl in a butter yellow lace-trim crop top with white wide-leg pants. clean, minimal, and so striking against Mother Co.’s warm plaster walls.

Peyton showed up in a white and pink floral tiered maxi dress with platform Converse and Birks. she walked through the cactus garden like she owned it. because she did.

and then came the confetti cannon. gold confetti raining down on all four of them, completely losing it, laughing, in their element. that one shot alone was worth everything.

4 Senior Portrait Tips

1. let your outfit do the talking. you don’t need a loud look to make a loud photo. Taliiya’s botanical print popped against neutral walls. Alma’s all-neutrals look hit just as hard. wear something that feels like the best version of you.

2. pick a location with built-in texture. Mother Co. gave us arches, plants, warm walls, and dramatic windows all in one place. when your location has layers, your gallery has variety. think beyond the field.

3. move, don’t just pose. the best shots from this session happened when the girls were walking, spinning, laughing between takes. movement creates life in photos. stop posing and start existing in the space.

4. don’t skip the close-up. some of the most beautiful images from this day were simple window-light portraits. nothing dramatic. just gorgeous natural light and a real moment. those are the ones you frame.
