Bold Colors, Bold Confidence: A Brand Photoshoot with Mindful Styling

Some brand photoshoots feel extra special because they aren’t just about the clothes—they’re about the story, the person, and the transformation. That’s exactly how I felt photographing Brenda Iris, founder of Mindful Styling, during her Minneapolis brand photoshoot with Mycah Bain Photography.
Brenda and I first connected earlier this year over happy hour at Mesa Margo, where we quickly discovered how aligned we were in our values and businesses. That conversation sparked a friendship and eventually led us to co-host a client appreciation event together in the spring. Soon after, I went through her color analysis and styling process as a client—and it was truly transformational.
Experiencing Mindful Styling as a Client

I’ve always loved free-flowing, fun, feminine styles, and I knew I wanted to keep that personal energy in my wardrobe. But I also wanted more professional looks for corporate and commercial shoots—without feeling stiff or stuffy. And, of course, I love color.
Brenda guided me through the full experience:
- Step One: I visited her studio for a complete color analysis, where I discovered the hues that not only make me glow but also feel aligned with my personality and goals.
- Step Two: Brenda came to my home and we went through my closet—every single item! I let go of a huge pile of clothes that didn’t fit my colors, body type, or goals, and she taught me how to style what remained with intention.
- Step Three: A couple of weeks later, I returned to her studio, where she had shopped for me. I got to try on and select from pieces I never would have picked myself—and I loved how much fun it was to see new possibilities for my style.
What I love most about Brenda is her ability to understand women, their goals, and the role clothing plays in building confidence. She makes the process approachable, encouraging, and empowering—helping you feel prepared and aligned for the person you want to be each day.
Behind the Camera: Creating Brenda’s Brand Photoshoot

In addition to being her client, I also had the joy of photographing Brenda for her brand photoshoot in Minneapolis. We spent a full day creating visuals that reflected her colorful, empowering, and professional brand. From vibrant pink suits and feather-trimmed dresses to golden sequins and chic professional looks, each outfit told the story of who she is and how she works with her clients.
We photographed not only editorial portraits but also lifestyle moments and behind-the-scenes imagery with models to showcase her process. The result? A dynamic collection of photos and videos that highlight Brenda’s mission: helping women feel confident, aligned, and magnetic through intentional styling.
Why Brand Photos Matter for Stylists & Creatives

For service-based businesses like Mindful Styling, imagery is everything. A well-planned brand photoshoot gives you:

- Storytelling power – images that don’t just show what you do, but why you do it.
For Brenda, these photos not only showcase her vibrant style but also embody her mission to empower women through color and clothing.
